About us

Ebb & Flow Farm is located in the sunny, picturesque countryside near the beautiful mountain town of Ashland, Oregon. We practice regenerative and biological growing methods with emphasis on re-mineralizing soil. We also practice permaculture and incorporate biodynamic methods in the garden. We aspire to eventually become fully biodynamic and our long-term plan is to design and develop the farm with fruit trees, periennial vegetables, bees, and much more! By increasing diversity within the land, the more healthy and balanced it can become.

Our Ebb & Flow motto is “Conscious Cultivation with Sun and Soil” and we believe that plants grown in living, mineralized soil with sun and love will fully express themselves as they are meant to. Healthy, living soil is fundamental in our approach as this makes for strong plants all around and is crucial for maximum terpene development and expression. We also incorporate companion planting to enhance terpinoid potential. We focus on cultivating a diverse variety of terpene rich cultivars which are effective, delicious, unique, and aesthetically pleasing.

What is CBD?

Cannabinol (commonly referred to as CBD) is a naturally occuring phytocannabinoid found in the resinous glands (trichomes) of the cannabis plant. CBD represents just one of the over 85 cannabinoids that have been discovered in cannabis. Aside from CBD, the most well known of the cannabinoids is tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. THC is known for it's many medical effects as well as the intoxication or feeling of being high that it induces. CBD on the other hand provides many medicinal benefits without the feeling of being high.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD - like other cannabinoids THC, CBN, & CBG - work by interacting with our bodies endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) ia a biological network composed of cannabinoid receptors (CB1 & CB2) and it helps the body maintain overall health & wellness. CB1 receptors help regulate many functions related to our central nervous system, while CB2 receptors manage the abilites associated with our peripheral nervous system. CBD works with your ECS to promote everyday health and wellness support and is a natually occuring cannabinoid found in the hemp plant.

What Are The Benefits of CBD?

CBD has been studied extensively and offers hope to the millions of people currently suffering and seeking a safer alternative to traditional pharmaceuticals. Some of the most studied conditions that CBD has been shown to provide relief for include:

- Chronic Pain

- Anxiety

- Insomnia

- Depression

Aside from these conditions, there is a growing number of scientific research and mounting anecdotal evidence that highlights CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions including but not limited to:

- Inflammation
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Alzheimer’s
- Dementia
- Parkinson

Types Of CBD

Not all CBD is created equal. Due to the fact that CBD is mainly sold as a supplement - and thus does not require the same stringent testing requirements as an FDA approved product - there have been many cases of CBD products being sold that contain less than and even sometimes no CBD. According to a recent report submitted to Congress from the Food and Drug Administration, "55% of the products tested contained a CBD level that differed from the labeling by more than 20%."    This makes it all the more important for consumers to do some research on the company/product before purchasing.

One of the first things to look for when purchasing a product containg CBD is to check whether it contains Full-Spectrum CBD, Broad Spectrum CBD, or CBD Isolate.

Full-Spectrum CBD

Full-Spectrum CBD is known to be the most therapeutically beneficial form as it contains all of the cannbinoids (including THC), terpenes, & fatty acids that occur naturally in the cannabis plant. Due to this, it is possible (although highly unlikely due to the very low levels of THC present) to fail a drug test. This is something to consider for anyone who may need to take a drug test for employment or legal reasons.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad Spectrum CBD contains all the cannabinoids and plant compounds of full-spectrum CBD minus THC. This allows the entourage effect to take place while also ensuring THC will not show up on a drug test.

CBD Isolate

CBD Isolate is CBD in it's purest form. It contains only CBD with no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or healthy fatty acids from the plant. The benefits of isolate over other types of CBD is it's generally cheaper than broad or full spectrum products and it contains no THC. The downside is you miss out on the "entourage effect" which studies have shown increase the therapeutic benefits of CBD.

Is CBD Legal?

Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp (defined as cannabis containing less than 0.3% THC) & hemp-derived CBD products (like our full-spectrum Vitality Drops & Vitality Gummies) are now legal in all 50 states.
